Teddy Bear Rafts

Angela Lyon

Use empty drink cans with the hole sealed up or photo film canisters - and don't forget a cork life jacket!

The rafts need string and a piece of polythene, as well as the corks. We get the girls to bring a plastic carrier bag, and supply the string ourselves. Test each creation in shallow water before use, and make sure the bear won't get wet - or that it is OK for the bear to get a bit damp.

You can either have a finished raft for them to copy or challenge them to create a raft that will float and is waterproof for the bear.
