Girls do not sleep. They used to bring sleeping bags but got to be a
hassle. Now troop bring large blanket for troop to sit on.
No other stores open. DJ will be there for 2 hours. I will try and send
the rough draft schedule. Girls are in open areas only. In case of fire
there is emergency exit throughout mall. No one can get in doors lock
from inside. You can go out but not get back in. I will have main key to
open main door for anyone needing in or out. Mall security is all there
all night. We have walkie talkies with them and communicate with others
in charge.
Below will be the rough schedule and letter.
Dear Troop Leader,
This is a confirmation for ___ girls and ___ adults for the Mall Lock-In
on January 31, 1998.
Enclosed is a rough draft of the schedule of events. This schedule is
subjected to change. It does not give you the location of the stations,
that will be decided closer to the date. You will be given a new revised
schedule at the event. You will not be able to chose which color group
you will be placed in. The number of girls registered and divided equally as possible
determines this.
There are a few changes you will need to go over with the girls who have
been in the past. In addition, for you first timers please read all
rules to the girls before coming to the event.
1) This is not a sleeping event. There will not be a troop sleeping
area. There will be a place for adults from out of town that will need
to sleep.
2) Do not bring food. Dinner, snack and breakfast will be served. If you
bring food, you will be asked to leave it outside.
3) Each troop can bring a jug of water. No soft drinks or kool aids.
4) Shoes must be kept on at all times. The floor is slick and girls have
been hurt from going around in socks.
5) Do not touch any of the plants.
6) Do not touch or lean on store grates. They have alarm systems that
will go off.
7) No calls are to be made unless with the supervision of an adult.
8) Remember to leave a place cleaner than you found it.
9) Eating only in specified areas.
What to bring:
Troop Leader:
1) Permission slips and health forms on each person attending.
2) Jug of water and cups. Leaders will have access to coffee.
3) Paper towels to clean up any spilled water
4) Blankets large enough for all girls to have a place to sit.
(Girls do not bring sleeping bags)
