One very fun project we did as a District was a food drive for the
Children's Breakfast Clubs. We planned a District Hallowe'en party.
Admission to the activities was a nonperishable food item. A representative
from the Breakfast Clubs came and showed a brief video about their agency
so the girls had a better understanding of where the food goes and what the
issues are. We asked that the girls "earn" their food donations, but if
most parents are like me they pulled the cupboard apart at 6:00pm the night
of looking for items to donate. (If only I were more organized or they'd
add a few extra hours to the day. Today we have one less hour!!!)
