Jar Lid Ornaments

Materials:

• lids for mason jars, or use ashtrays from a fast-food restaurant
• nails
• lace for trim
• hammer

Directions:

Find a simple Christmas design such as a bell, tree or candle. Put dots on the design where you want the girls to punch a hole. Do this like tin punch to create an ornament for the tree. Be sure to put a hole in the top for hanging the ornament and put a piece of ribbon to hang it with. You can trim the entire edge with a gathered lace to dress up the ornament.

Hints, Tips and Friendly Advice:

• Be sure to put a layer of newspaper under the design or use a block of wood. If they are using the ashtrays you can use a pushpin to punch the holes.
• Be sure to put names and dates on the back of the design.
