Leaf Plates

Karen Billings

I've taken clear glass plates and glued leaves on the bottom with ModPodge. Spread glue on leaves on the side you want showing up when the plate is on a table. Spread plate with ModPodge and cover outside with tissue paper. Let it dry. (Might take two layers of tissue paper.) Then trim the rough edges of paper with cuticle scissors/exacto-knife (whatever you or the girls can handle). Then I buy a permanent gold shiny pen and paint around the edge of the plate. These would be wonderful to serve the cookies or snacks on (if that's what you're having). I've also used Christmas tissue for girls to make and then we made cookies for the girls to take home on their pretty plates. Big hit!
