These reindeer are cute and fun to make. They make a nice decoration for a party or to take to a Seniors' home, or to take to their home.
Hints, Tips and Friendly Advice:
Frontier Girl Scout Council
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Trace onto the paper (felt or foam sheet) and cut out one foot and both hands (with finger's spread wide apart) . Place the foot with the toes are pointing up (this will form the face of the reindeer), attach one hand to each side of the widest part (forming the antlers). Glue everything in place. Draw in eyes and a nose with the markers. Use the ribbon to make a hanging loop. Be sure to date each decoration, in addition to being cute, these make an interesting way to remember just how small their hands and feet were.
Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley
Western New York State, USA
Trace each child's shoe onto brown paper and 2 hand outlines on the gray paper. Cut out (little ones may need help with the cutting). Glue hand outlines to the toe of the shoe cutout for antlers. Use black and white paper to cut out and glue on eyes or glue on wiggle eyes. Glue on red pom pom nose and draw on a mouth.
These could be made with fun foam or felt and glued onto a burlap backing to make a nice wallhanging for use as a gift for the parents or grandparents. Fold the top of the burlap over, making a casing, and glue. Add a dowel and a hanging cord. Be sure to write on the date somewhere! Or, how about using fabric paints and making a holiday apron for the leaders, using the girls hand and foot prints? Use fingerprints for the nose and eyes, red paint for the nose and black for the eyes. Use a fabric marker to draw on the mouth.
