For a simple Thanksgiving centerpiece, we have often used the miniature pumpkins. We make them into candle holders, then place other small gourds, squash, etc. around them. It is very harvest-festive! Just cut a small hole in the top of the mini-pumpkin and scoop out with a spoon. Make sure the hole is only about the size of a quarter, so the candle won't tilt!
