You cut a tree trunk out of brown felt, and a round shape from cotton wool for the top of the tree. Lay the shapes on a plate to form the tree, water the cotton wool, then sprinkle some seeds on top. Water the seeds every day. In a few days the seeds will sprout and the tree will start to turn green.(In the book it suggests using Alfalfa or Watercress seeds so that you can use them in a sandwich when they are grown.)
