Stuffed Grape Leaves from Egypt
Usually the grape leaves have to be boiled before you
can eat them ... kinda like spinach. Sometimes you can buy them already
cooked, but not often. The stuffing can consist of any chopped meat; cooked
rice; onions, and seasonings all mixed together. For a more authentic recipe,
you could use saffron and curry to season.
Lay out each leaf and place 1 - 2 tablespoons of the mixture. Roll like
you would an egg roll or a burrito. If you want to make them in advance
and reheat them ... be sure you cover them with foil. The leaves dry out
fast.
