2 teacups milk
4 tablespoons treacle
2 oz butter
1 teacup chopped peanuts
The WAGGGS Activity index contains activities which can be adapted to teach
about any country, and activities which relate to WAGGGS as a whole.
Place milk, treacle and butter in a saucepan and boil for ten minutes.
Add peanuts, bring back to boil and continue cooking for about five minutes.
Test for setting by dropping a tiny amount into ice cold water - if the
candy forms into a soft ball (like dough) it is ready. If it not ready,
continue boiling and testing.
Pour into a shallow, greased tin and allow to set.
When cold, cut into bars and wrap in waxed or greaseproof paper. Store
in an airtight tin.
