First we made 'medals' out of salt dough using whatever design the Brownies wanted. Once the salt dough was dry (the following week), we painted one third of them yellow (gold medals), one third gray (silver medals), and one third brown (bronze medals). Once the paint had dried, they were all threaded onto ribbon (my assistant had managed to get some cheap!).
All the Brownies made invitations inviting their Parents along.
We started with field events, which included finding our champion welly-thrower. Then we went onto track events - a wheelbarrow race, beanbag and spoon race, 3 legged race, Parents' obstacle race, and so on. Because we had a lot of races, every Brownie went home with at least one medal.
