Use a large round wooden dowel for the body, and four smaller dowels for the legs. Draw a horse's head and neck on a piece of paper. Use this as a pattern to cut the same shape out of balsa wood or some other stiff material. Use several strands of thick rough twine for the tail. These horses are traditionally painted bright red and trimmed with yellow and blue for halter and saddle.
