More Swiss Food Ideas
Just some ideas for food to represent Switzerland:
-
Meat and potatoes make up a large part of Swiss meals. Zürcher
Geschnetzeltes (Emincé de Veau in French), ground veal in a cream
sauce is a popular (but expensive!) Swiss meat dish.
-
Fondue - usually made of a blend of Emmentaler and Gruyères
cheeses, white wine, kirsch, and spices. It is eaten by dunking small cubes
of white bread into a caquelon (type of pot) that is kept hot by a flame
underneath.
-
Raclette - made by cutting a large cheese in half and heating it
until it melts. The melted cheese is then scraped onto a baked potato and
garnished with any number of other foodstuffs.
-

Simple Chocolate Fondue.
Melt chocolate in a bowl. The girls have long forks which they use
to dip fruit into the chocolate. e.g. grapes, strawberries, etc.
