Scones
Ingredients:

225g (8 oz) self raising flour
-
40g (1 ½ oz) margarine
-
1 ½ tablespoons sugar
-
pinch of salt
-
150 ml (¼ pint) milk
-
extra flour for rolling out dough
Method:

Heat oven to 425F, 220C, Gas Mark 7.

Rub margarine into the flour with your fingertips until it looks like bread
crumbs
-
Stir in sugar and salt
-
Slowly add milk, stirring all the time, until mixture is stiff

Sprinkle extra flour onto a table or pastry board, and roll out dough until
it is about 2 cm thick

Cut out round shapes
-
Place scones on greased tray, and cook for about 12 to 15 minutes
Another idea is to add grated cheese or sultanas with the dry ingredients
to make cheese or sultana scones.
