This quote came from a book of 'sayings' in the dining hall at Our Cabana. I was there in 1995 (Festivals and Traditions session) and my patrol selected this saying as part of our morning opening/flag raising ceremony as it seemed so fitting to our session. I don't believe it was credited to anyone
Not chance or
birth or place has made us friends,
being often times of different tongues and nations,
but the endeavour of self-same ends with the same hopes and fears and aspirations.
