1. Spread the tarp on the ground and peg it so the wind doesn’t blow it away.
2. Place the tent over the tarp so that the tent bottom is on the
tarp.
3. Slide the long tent poles diagonally across the tent, crossing in the middle.
As you slide them across, they go through a sleeve of netting (one sleeve for each pole).
4. When poles are through the sleeves and all the way through evenly (same amount of pole on all sides,
lift the tent up slowly using the poles to lift it up. (have one person hold each pole at the end)
5. Hook the top of the tent to the poles near the intersection point at the top.
Two hooks are in the same spot, hook both to the same pole but the hooks face in alternate directions
as you attach them to the pole.
6. Push the end of the poles into the first holes on the black straps at the bottom of the tent corners.
Hook the tent to the poles all the way around. The tent is now standing!
7. The third pole is shorter and goes through the sleeve over the front door of the tent.
Once it is through with equal pole on either side, it goes over the other pole on each side
and the end is put into the hole of the strap located on the side of the tent at the bottom
8. Using tent pegs, peg the tent out all around. Make sure the tent is secure.
9. Unfold fly and through one end over the top. The Outbound logo should go towards the front.
The doors of the tarp should be over the doors of the tent. If you don’t do this you will be sorry.
Take the last pole (it is a short one) and slide it carefully through the sleeve on the underside of the fly.
The ends of the pole go into the second holes of the black straps on the bottom corners at the front of the tent.
10. Attach the tarp using the clips all the way around. Peg out the guidelines for the tent and tighten them
using the plastic slides on the ropes. Make sure you put the tent bags inside the tent or they will blow away.
Striking the tent
1. Repeat the above process in reverse, beginning with the fly.
2. As you remove the tent pegs, put them into one spot.
3. Remove the poles gently and lay them together.
4. Once the tent is down, fold it into thirds lengthwise.
Lay the fly (folded lengthwise in half twice) along the length of the folded tent (kind of looks like an unwrapped burrito).
5. Fold the tent and fly together in half. Flatten it with your body to get the extra air out.
This is the fun part. Roll or fold it once more. The tent should now be slightly shorter than the tent bag.
6. One person holds the tent bag (she is the bag lady) and another places the tent into the bag.
Gently push/shake the tent inside.
7. Put poles and pegs into their respective bags. Carefully place them into the tent bag alongside the tent.
8. Fold the tarp into a small square. Place it into the tent bag
at the top.
